Nurses who are drug addicts, forensic investigators that are serial killers, high school teachers who are cooking meth, moms that grow weed, military heros that are terrorists…it goes on. Its getting boring. Every tv pitch out there is about a person with a ‘double life’…so whats up? Why are we obsessed with these stories ST asks? Do we wish our limp middle class lives were more exciting? No doubt. But is there more to it? I thought we went though this sort of societal ‘we are dirty under the surface’ crisis after the Vietnam war. Is this a product of all the shitty lies that have led us astray in that last decade? Is it that we feel our lives are increasingly bifurcated / fractured? ST wants to know. Thoughts?
