John Ford REALLY PISSED…and funny. He is being interviewed by Peter Bogdanovich. He was notoriously hostile to the press (and lots of other people)…Ford is clearly totally unwilling to discuss subtext in his work. ST think says that’s silly. ST also thinks its really funny. ST thinks its very interesting that many of earlier Hollywood directors were really annoyed by people trying to find meaning in there work. But ST also gets that too because lots of people that ask questions are annoying. Bogdanovich is not one of those people. He was really interesting and thoughtful. He did wonderful interviews with Orson Welles you should check out if you find them.
